Safety is a primary concern with each and every job.

FLAGG is serious about safety. We take the steps to insure that every employee has the knowledge and the training to complete each job safely. All employees are required to read a job safety manual, attend a safety meeting with their supervisor and fellow employees, and communicate any questions or concerns before and during the job. By taking a few extra steps ahead of time, we help to insure that each project goes smoothly and without any unnecessary surprises. Job safety is just one example of how we build on our experience to increase the quality of service we are able to offer.

An excerpt from Flagg's Safety Manual which each and every employee receives, reads, and follows:

The following rules and regulations are designed for the safety and welfare of all employees. These rules and regulations are intended to protect life, health, property, and to promote a safe work environment.  Please take the time to read and understand the material contained in this Health and Safety Manual.

This company is serious about safety.  We want you to think seriously about safety, both your own safety and the safety of others.  Safety is the responsibility of every employee.  Most injuries occurring in our industry are preventable.  One does not need to suffer an injury to get a job done.

Safety is accomplished through effective communication, sincere desire, honest effort, common sense and support by everyone.  Talking about safety does not prevent accidents. It is a commitment to doing things safely every time.

If you have any problems, such as dizziness, trouble breathing, bad back, fainting spells, personal problems, etc., which could affect your work or your judgment, tell your supervisor. Your supervisor needs to know so that you won't be placed in a situation where you could hurt yourself or others.
Your supervisor will hold safety meetings for the entire crew. You are required to attend.  Participate in the meetings, contribute your "know-how" to the less experienced. Ask questions if you don't understand.

Learn the material in this booklet that pertains to your work. Refer to this material and consult your supervisor before starting any task that may be unfamiliar to you.  Be aware of other activities nearby that may create hazards to you or which may affect your work.

If you are confronted with any job conditions that appear to be unnecessarily hazardous, call them to the immediate attention of your supervisor.

Before starting work, each new employee will attend a safety class which will be conducted by the site supervisor.  At this time, the site supervisor will discuss any hazards that are peculiar to the work site.

After attending the class, you will be asked to sign a form stating that you have received the safety training and a copy of this manual.
